Biography
Layton Watts, who made his Whitby Town debut in November 2024, is an integral part of Gary Liddle's side. Last term, he netted six times in 24 games, including a fine free-kick strike against Hyde United which was nominated for the Seasiders' Goal of the Season Award.The versatile attacking midfielder began signed for the Seasiders from West Auckland Town whom he'd joined after an impressive spell with Redcar Athletic.
Despite jumping up two divisions, Watts established himself in Whitby's attack where his energetic performances helped Town secure their Pitching In Northern Premier League status.
Capable of playing in a variety of attacking roles, he scored his first goal for the Seasiders in a 3-0 Northern Premier League victory at home to Lancaster City shortly after joining the club.
Watts has become favourite with the Town faithful thanks to his all-action displays in the attack.
