The 24-year-old centre-back, who featured for Blyth Spartans and Spennymoor Town last season, turned out for Whitby as a trialist during pre-season.

The defender has also played for Hartlepool United in the past during their days in the National League.

Cunningham will be available for selection at Matlock Town on Saturday afternoon.
