Whitby Town announced the signing of prolific forward Jacob Hazel on Wednesday afternoon, making the striker the club's first summer signing of 2020.
Hazel made the switch from Frickley Athletic, a side who he captained and became something of a talisman for with his impressive scoring record.
Now with the Seasiders, he gives us some insight into his style of play and what he hopes to achieve moving forwards.
I spoke to Chris Hardy a couple of weeks ago and we had a really good chat about everything. I think we share a similar ambition in the game and beyond so that helped to attract me to Whitby Town. I also couldn't turn down the opportunity to jump up a level and that was a massive head turner.
I know Danny Rowe from his time at Frickley a few seasons ago and I think he's a really good lad. I also know Jameel Ible who joined on the same day as me. He's a really good mate of mine and I'm sure both him and Dan will help me settle in well.
As a striker I'm here to score goals and I would say that I like a shot, but my main aim is to create chances for my teammates and myself. That's what I think best describes my style of play.
I am confident that I can transfer my form and ability from Frickley to Whitby and hopefully hit the ground running whenever that may be. I've played in this league before and I've been involved in cup ties against teams from this level in cup competitions so I feel that I should be ok when making the transition.
Our aim has to be the play-offs and maybe even above that next season. I think the club is geared up for that and going off last season's league standings, Whitby were in with a great chance of doing that before the season was ended.
I'd just like to end by saying that I would like to wish everyone at Frickley all the very best. They are a great club and there are great people running it. I had a really good stint with them.
