Whitby Town mascot Scampi Skipper is looking to batter the opposition when he heads to Wetherby Races!

Whitby Town fans can support Scampi Skipper at Wetherby Races in April, when he takes part in the Mascot Gold Cup, on Sunday 28 April!

With the club raising funds to carry out vital pitch works, Scampi decided to enter the race to raise money - and fans can donate to support his efforts here.

The Mascot Gold Cup event set the Guinness World Record for the Most Mascots in a Race in 2015 and continues to be a fun-filled day out for all the family while helping Sue Ryder to provide expert care.

Mascots first take part in the Mascot Parade in the official parade ring where punters can place their bets on their favourites. Several prizes are up for grabs during the Mascot Parade, including the coveted ‘Best Mascot on Parade’.

Following the parade, there is a one-minute mascot warm-up led by ‘Pound Hound’ from race sponsor Poundland before the race starts.

The club - having entered Scampi Skipper in the race - will have access to half-price tickets (Under-16s get in free if accompanied by an adult) for the day, and we are exploring the option of putting transport to the event on.

Fans can register their interest in joining us at Wetherby Races by emailing paulconnolly@whitbytownfc.com.
