Marske started and got the game underway. After government guidelines were lifted the crowd could reach up to 600 people, but even so it was not a large turnout. It started as a fairly average game of non-league football until the 27th minute when Adam Gell slipped one past the keeper but was called offside. Luckily though a few minutes later Jameel Ible headed Brad Mills' corner home to take Whitby 1-0 up before there was once again average football until half time. After half time Butterworth for Marske skied the ball well away from the ground with high power and it went into the north sea. And that was pretty much it apart from the unused chances on goal. Smith then hit a ball in anger and was booked this time after it was wedged on the shed roof. It was a good pre-season run out against a good team. I wish Marske a good season ahead, and also next week against Crook in the FA cup. We were lucky to have any balls left by the end of the game!

The game against Marske was not that good a game to watch. The game was even from the kick-off but Whitby started to make some chances. They took the lead in the 34th minute when they scored from a corner. It was number four Jameel Ible who got the goal before half time. I wasn't impressed with the referee after he blew his whistle for the second half. When a Marske player pushed a Whitby player he said "get up". But in the end Whitby won it 1-0.
