The 24-year-old striker signed for his former club earlier in 2024 after leaving the Seasiders at the back end of 2023 ahead of a planned spell in Australia.

In the UK before his first move to the Towbar Express Stadium, Simpson represented Hartlepool United, Preston North End, Cork City, and Connah's Quay Nomads, with brief spells in the Northern Premier League at Lancaster City, Hyde United, Scarborough Athletic and Marske United.

Simpson's most memorable moment for Town to date came when scored a quite stunning goal in last season's Emirates FA Cup first round tie at Bristol Rovers.
