YOUR GUIDE TO VISITING THE TOWBAR EXPRESS STADIUM @ THE TURNBULL GROUND

Will this be your first time ever visiting the Towbar Express Stadium at the Turnbull Ground? Well firstly, we look forward to welcoming you to the ground and our club. If you've not quite made that decision yet then take our word for it - we hope you decide to! Either way here's a range of information that we think may help you out.

Your Guide to Match Day at the Towbar Express Stadium
The Towbar Express Stadium at the Turnbull Ground has been home to Whitby Town since August 31st, 1929, when the Seasiders beat Stockton 3-0 in the opening match, following its donation to the people of Whitby by Wilfrid Oswald Turnbull. Over the years it has played host to a number of famous matches, including FA Cup First and Second Round ties, FA Vase finals and league-winning clashes. The face of the ground has changed several times since it opened, and has a capacity for 2,999 spectators on a match day. The postcode of the ground is YO21 3HZ.

HOW TO BUY TICKETS
Unless a game is advertised as all-ticket in advance (this happens only for Category A games) you have two choices – you can purchase in advance online or you can pay on the gate, either with cash or card/contactless, on the day.

We are a family-friendly club and under-16s are admitted to the ground free of charge, if accompanied by a paying adult.

Once you get the Whitby bug, we have a number of ticketing options for our regular supporters, including 10-game flexi-tickets and season tickets.

Ticket Prices 2023/24
Adults (18+) - £12
Concessions - £8
Under 18s - £4
Under 16s (accompanied by paying adult) - Free

Pre-purchased tickets can be bought via the club’s online ticket office.

CAR PARKING
On-site car parking at the Towbar Express Stadium at the Turnbull Ground is extremely limited on match days and is restricted to permit holders and away team officials only.

We have a limited number of spaces available for disabled supporters. Please email info@whitbytownfc.com in advance of the match you’re attending.

There is limited street parking around the ground which is free of charge, while parking is available at the nearby Leisure Centre, just five minutes’ walk away from the ground. There is also pay and display parking available on the West Cliff.

TOWBAR EXPRESS STADIUM ON A MATCH DAY - YOUR GUIDE
On a Saturday match day, turnstiles open at 1:30pm for a 3pm kick-off.

On a Tuesday match day, turnstiles open at 6:00pm for a 7:45pm kick-off.

For amended kick-off times, turnstile opening times will be communicated via Whitby Town’s social media channels, the club website and, if known well in advance, the club’s match day programme.

On a standard match day, turnstiles 1 & 2 are in operation, with both pre-paid tickets and pay on the gate covered.

On the walk up to the turnstiles, our programme sellers will be on hand. After being admitted to the ground, our 50/50 draw sellers will be on your right-hand side, while our golden goal sellers will be milling around the ground.

The majority of our matches are non-segregated games which means that all supporters access the ground through turnstiles 1 & 2.

For segregated games (Category A), away fans are directed towards turnstile 4, on Upgang Lane, to access the ground. There will be no access to Turnbull’s Bar from the designated away end.

Once inside the ground, Turnbull’s Bar is open before, during and after the match serving drinks, while our canteens are open from 2:15pm.

WHAT AM I ALLOWED/NOT ALLOWED TO BRING INTO THE GROUND?
To ensure the safety of all supporters inside the ground on a match day, we have a number of items that are not permitted inside the ground, as is outlined in the document at the bottom of the page.

WHERE DO HOME FANS STAND?
Most supporters tend to congregate in the Scratching Shed on the east side of the ground, or on the west side, either in the main stand or on the terracing near the turnstiles and canteen.

For segregated fixtures (category A), these areas will be available to home supporters, with the Upgang Lane end terracing available for away supporters.

CAN FANS SIT AND WATCH THE GAME?
Yes, supporters are welcome to enjoy the game from our covered main stand - Brooks Mileson Stand - which is on your left-hand side as you enter the ground, with a capacity to seat 499 people. There is no charge to sit in the main stand.

WHERE DO AWAY FANS STAND?

When games are segregated, there is capacity for away fans standing at the Upgang Lane end of the ground.

Seating is made available for away supporters who are unable to stand, however the club needs to be informed in advance of the fixture - please contact the club’s Security Officer Steve Wiggins on safetyofficer@whitbytownfc.com in advance of the match you’re attending.

When games aren't segregated, away fans are welcome to walk around the ground.

IS THERE ANYWHERE TO EAT AND DRINK?
There are two catering outlets inside the ground. One on the west side of the ground, to the left of turnstiles 1 & 2, and the other at the Upgang Lane end of the ground. There is also access to Turnbull’s Bar.

We also offer hospitality packages in the Bob Scaife & Don Kirby Patron’s lounge, where you can have food before the match and watch the game from a prime position in the main stand.
